Local Bayside business woman named as a finalist in National AusMumpreneur Awards

Linda Anderson of Mums on The Go has been selected as a finalist, for Best Blog, in the 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards. “The number of Mum Bloggers in Australia is growing exponentially so it is an honour to be recognised in this way” says Linda.

The 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards presented by connect2mums celebrate and recognize Mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business, product development, services and innovation in businesses from Australia and New Zealand.  The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

When asked why the blog at Mums on the Go deserves this award Linda Anderson shares “The blog at Mums on the Go is self reflective, prepared to be honest and is intelligently insightful. The blog provides a space for Mums to challenge their assumptions, say anything, be anything and focus on themselves. Mums on the Go is NOT a parenting website so the blog does not discuss how to get your children to sleep at night or eat vegetables!  The Mums on the Go Blog creates a sense of community for women who want to take full advantage of the internet to provide the ‘village support’ that is lacking in society for so many of us.”

Mums on the Go™ is a website created to help mums value themselves as much as they value their children. At the heart of this website is a Directory of child-friendly businesses that meet Mums needs – such as hairdressers, doctors, cafes, and fitness providers. Currently the Directory services Sydney with Melbourne due to be added in September 2011.  

Mums on the Go was created by life coach, Linda Anderson. An adventurous spirit has ensured Linda Anderson has led a colourful life. Whether it is trekking in Nepal; travelling the world with her husband to be for 365 days without working; or braving sharks and blue bottles in ocean swim races Linda never does anything by halves.
Linda is Mum to 2 beautiful daughters, Hannah & Maddison.

There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Linda Anderson explains, “I love that Mums on the Go allows me to work in a flexible way making the balance of being a Mum and a business woman possible.”

It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Linda Anderson gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise.” Running your own business is not for everyone … neither is juggling business and family. A new business often feels like a new baby – totally dependant on you around the clock! Take time to really evaluate if running your own business will suit you, your skill set, personality, and family values. If it is … then go for it!”


Winners will be selected by a public vote at www.connect2mums.com.au with voting closing at midnight on Sunday 21 August 2011.  The winners of the 2011 Bio-Oil AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at a glamorous Awards dinner at Mercure Sydney on Saturday 27 August 2011.
